Marilyn Monroe Restoration
Client: Woodley Park Main Street
Pipkin Creative managed the restoration of one of DC’s most iconic murals, Marilyn Monroe, perched high above Connecticut Avenue atop the legendary Salon Roi.
Originally commissioned in 1981, the mural has gained widespread fame as a Washington DC landmark, and was last restored 19 years ago. The mural is a stop on the Old Towne Trolley tourist bus, and is consistently reproduced in paintings, t-shirts, calendars and postcards. Pipkin Creative managed the artist team, technical process, timeline, permits, and final outcome, on behalf of Woodley Park Main Street. It was truly an honor.
Artists: Andrew Funk & Kevin Irvin
